Savannah Vaca

Savannah (she/her), an actor and theatre arts educator in the Madison area, is excited to be a part of the Character Kids team! She holds a B.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB), and an M.M. in Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from Carthage College. Savannah has had the pleasure of performing nationally with RWS Entertainment and Meyer2Meyer Entertainment, in addition to touring with Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT). Some of her favorite credits include: Charlotte Corday in The Revolutionists (UWGB), Artemidorus in Julius Caesar (UWGB), and Patches in Cinderella (MCT).



Aly Rader

Aly Rader (she/her is a Wisconsin raised multidisciplinary artist primarily focused on theatre & dance & is ecstatic to be joining Character Kids. She graduated with a BFA in Theatre & Minor in dance from UW- Milwaukee. Aly’s last project was assistant directing with Groundlings Theatre in Waunakee and last seen onstage at the Orpheum at the Barrio Block Party & at the Bartell with Mercury Players Theatre’s production of Hamlet. Previous onstage credits Isthmus Dance Collective in their DELVE Incubator Performances, Helena & Sarah (Groundlings Theatre), Dana Fielding (Madison Theatre Guild), & Vega (CTM). She gives her gratitude to her teachers, her fellow artists, & her loved ones for their unwavering support.

TEACHING ARTISTS:

Character Kids is seeking Teaching Artists for the Spring and Summer Sessions!

Spring:

Character Kids offers after school theater classes at elementary schools throughout the greater Madison Area. This is a great supplemental job for working actors and/or college students. Scheduling is flexible, but candidates should be available at least one weekday afternoon and have a reliable mode of transportation. Classes are one hour long and usually fall somewhere between 3-5 pm. Classes take place at our partner elementary schools, and each session meets once per week for 8-10 weeks. Pay is $40/class.

We’re happy to work with first time teachers, although candidates should have some experience in theater and/or education. Summer:

Character Kids is seeking talented, organized, energetic Teaching Artists for the summer! Character Kids offers summer camps at local elementary schools. This is a great supplemental job for working actors or college students! Candidates should have at least one week of daytime availability. We have camps that are full day (10 am - 3pm) as well as half day (8:30 - 11:00). About the Company: Character Kids provides after school theater classes and summer theater camps to elementary schools, Rec departments and community centers throughout the Greater Milwaukee Area. In our programs, students learn the basics of acting, singing and musical theater dance while having a lot of fun! Focus is put on developing imagination, social skills and a positive self-image through the performing arts. We want to create a safe and encouraging atmosphere for students to "build character...onstage and off"!
